Gary,
There has been a lot of talk about crawling down at Cobbies over the past few weeks. It's starting to sound like there maybe a few guys interested in getting into the RC Crawlers, I know I have. Larry had a Axial AX10 on his shelf he couldn't keep his hands off of after Christmas so he called his own. It was out on a bench during a Saturday race; he let me take a few "hot" laps with it around and up and over the track and that was it... Hooked. A few other guys already have trucks but they only play around their house with them. They were unaware that there was the beginnings of a group forming. Let see if we can get this off the ground and have some fun with this.

Larry,
what size servo did you say would work in the Crawler you have? I'm guessing it is the same one that would be used in the Trial Honcho... I forgot what you guys had said on Saturday... should have written it down. I'm gonna start collecting parts so when I make the purchase I will be ready to build and crawl.
Thanks,

MIke

I have a pretty sweet XR10, I run a 7980 on it set to the default 5.1v on my BEC and its a beastly servo, but it is huge. I am leaving it at low volts for now as its plenty strong but its capable of over 600oz/in @ 7.4v. I have a little indoor area in my basement where I crawl and a good spot under a bridge by my house. Looking for some more Local crawlers, I go to Jims RC a lot, they treat me good there for parts prices. The bridge by Jims RC is supposedly a good spot too, if its anything like most bridges in the area it should have some nice stone under there.

Default Finally Broke Down and Purchased one...

Well, I finally broke down and made the purchase. I got a Axial Trail Honcho scale truck from Cobbies Hobbies in New Milford ,PA. I have always been a go fast and turn left kinda guy, but once I seen these new crawlers crawl I was like "gotta have one". So I am now just building it in my spare time with ideas on how to make it climb better whirling around my head. Which leads me to trying to build parts to put the weight low and forward ... we'll see.

Hey I'm close by...living in Endicott. Just got myself an Axial SCX10 Dingo. Haven't even run it yet, had to sit there and stare at it all weekend. Battery and charger just came in today though so hopefully be able to try it out tonight some.
