| Edge Droop with no Springs?
Hey....I'm thinking of running a droop setup with no springs at all. I was going to use XXL Big Bores with AX10 Shafts. Instead of running internal springs I thought a nice thick oil, like 1000 weight diff oil, would work well. And then using a small piece if fuel tubing on the outside to raise the ride height up a little. Would this run well with just gravity and the weight of the truck moving the shocks up and down? Anyone have any comments on this setup?

I tried running my AX10 with no springs at all, and just the 30wt oil, and the torque twist made the truck drive on its side basically. It was FULLY leaned over any time you drive it. However the lower COG was amazing climbing steep pillows that I would not have gotten over before. I am considering the edge chassis, and I am currently researching what kind of shock setup I would want to run. Im thinking the T-Maxx Big bores, with internal springs that way its aliminum and the shock caps wont pop off. |

And I thought this was a ROCKcrawler forum? just giving ya shiat now as for the droop, internal springs loaded under the piston usually work best to pull the body down on the axles thus the lower CofG. get some RCP internals and experiment, many of use have tried many diff shock set ups to fit ur driving style Last edited by Mad4Rnr; 02-04-2008 at 11:15 PM. | |

From what I've experineced, you do want some kind of spring in there, otherwise when you are on a steep side hill situation, the chassis likes to roll away from the hill and eventually takes the axles with it. no bueno.
