Default BEC Wiring verification

I have a mamba max esc and tq3 reciever with this split 8 cell battery. http://www.tcscrawlers.com/TCS-8-cel...n-p-16620.html

I was wondering which diagram im suppose to be following to install a cc BEC. http://www.castlecreations.com/products/cc_bec.html# I'm guessing the diagram on the right since i have a split cell battery pack. The cc bec radio ends plug into the the rx and i just unplug the red wire that goes from the esc to the rx?

Also i have the castle link program and wire that came with my mamba max esc/motor combo. Can i use that to program my cc bec?

thx, im just making sure before i see smoke.

Your pack is split...........but it is still a single pack with a single plug. You would follow the diagram on the left.

To program your BEC, you will need the hardware link that comes with the castle link.

don't forget to disable the BEC on the ESC, the printed instructions on mine didn't say anything about it but its very important

I cut my on/off swtich wires awhile back. I soldered them together. Basically its always on, to turn my rig on i just plug my batts together. Is removing the red wire coming from the esc to the rx disabling the bec? I hope my on/off switch has nothing to do with it.

My mamba max esc came with "castle link" cd and cable. I'm gussing its the same one used to program both Mamba Max esc and CC BEC?

yes pulling the red wire is disabling the BEC.

the link that you need for the BEC is the same that you get for the Mamba 25, the one with the shrink wrapped Circuit board

So unless i dish out 25 bucks just for the castle link my stock cc bec will only put out 5.1v i suppose. i guess the castle link for my mambamax esc is useless. I guess i shoulda bought one from john homles pre programmed for 6v.

If i leave it stock with 5.1volts, is it better than my stock bec on my mamba max esc for a 2.2 comp rig with front steering and a servo for the dig?

it will have lower voltage but the amp draw will be what you want, If I were you I would ask around one of you're friends or guys at the LHS might have one you could borrow
