with my scorpion i have 5 3700 on there now will that work or should i go with more then 5

Depends on the voltage of your ESC. How many volts can it handle? I personally run no less than 7 cells

Agreed 7 cells minimum. The additional voltage makes a big difference. Look seriously at 3s lipo if you have the money or a charger that will charge them. If you're on a budget, 8 cell saddle packs on the front axle are your best bet.

ok so cant i go with a 65 turn and 90 for the gear wount that make up for the lost cells

You wont get the needed amp draw on 5 cells. Use 10 cells if you don't want to buy new packs, run them in series. I run 10 cells or 3 cell lipo generally. |

That esc will handle tons of power. I run cheap motors and 3s lipos to get them to perform. 7-8 or up to 10 cells NiMH would be good alternative. 10 if you can handle the weight and placement.
