i drilled a hole in each wheel, cut my foams and weighted my rims with stick on wheel weights, the hole in th rim and the weights are great, i cut too much foam though and i got no sidewall, oops, the only other mod ive done other than that is mounting a battery on my front upper links. runs pretty good for a basically stock truck.

I think the breather holes would alow the tire to deflate (crush) better for more bite. I was also told some people are filling their tires about half way to the lower "bead" with BBs or bird shot. They said this keeps the weight at the lowest spot and keeps it in the tires for a great bite but I am on the fence about this one. would like to go to the metal links. Does any one make a skid plate for the front servo and linkage as I find myself hung up on these somewhat often. What is the recomended springs and what is a "droop" setup? thanks for helping out a noob |

First thing I'd concern myself with is lowering the center of gravity. Put a saddle battery pack on the front axle, and weight the tires. 7oz in each front. 3 oz in each rear tire is a good starting point. I like the stick on wheel weights. I picked mine up from a tire shop for next to nothing. Oh, and take the bump stop off the shock shaft & put it inside under the piston. You don't need as much height as how they come from the factory. after that, the sky is the limit! |

since you're new, and you bought the RTR, why dont you just drive it for a while? THEN decide what YOU need it to do for you that it doesnt already do. That way you're spending your money and making changes that you NEED first, then mod it as desired...I mean, seems if you bought the RTR you're not into the build part of it... welcome to crawling... |

i suggest putting a few holes in each rim. it helps tire flex and eliminates the bounce. i also suggest getting alum links with bents in the rear.

| -----------------------------------------------------------------------be sure to discharge the batteries before you do any soldering when you do put 4 on the front axle and two on the rear just run a good jumper wire to the rear did that to mine works great

| They are less likely to rub the tires than straight links. If you need more clearence, just angle them in slightly until they don't rub. Whoever told you they rub knows not of what they speak.

| New to crawling
Hey guys new to rock crawling. Gonna pick up an ax-10 I have been in rc for over 20 years. Tired of buying cases of tires to race 1/10 touring car. Rock-craling seems awesome to me. Is there any clubs or competitions in the New York area?
