Default Wrapping your antenna wire *Best Way?*

I was wondering (as I'm sure some noobs are aswell) if a few of you vets had a particular way you wrap your antenna wires to keep them underneath the body and out of harms way for sharp rocks. I can't stand how mine is just hanging out there through the back/top of my body and was wondering how you guys keep them hidden.

Also, Is there a better chance of interference if it is wrapped a certain way? I once read not to "double over" the wire because it will reduce the range..True or False?

Pics would help if it's not too much to ask, I just want to get a general idea.

Thanks
-Tim

That's the type of pic I was looking for, Thanks!

Just so I'm clear, Just zig-zag it through the holes in the lexan strip right?..Not letting them "cross the streams" to quote a great movie from back in the day...

Thanks

x2 on JBHardwear's lexan strip.

I had a similar design ziptied to the back of my rig. But eventually I didn't like having it looped on the back and I didn't want to have it free floating like how JB has it shown in his picture.

So I decided to try my own idea. I cut a spare antenna tube into smaller half sections and then fed the antenna wire into the tube and the tube through the screw mount holes in my SW3. If I change up to a Spektrum eventually, that wire will be so much shorter and easier to hide.

You got it!

Pickup some lexan from the LHS, drill some holes, feed it through a hole and loop it around and if you want to skip a hole, go for it. Play around with what works with the length of antenna wire you have.

I have a lexan strip installed on my micro rs4 racer.

That worked for me till I ran it in my stadium truck. Then again, I had a buggy body with a truck body over that.... the distance just wasn't there. It worked fine up close.... so probably fine for a crawler... but for wide open parking lots, it didn't work far enough away. Oh yeah, running cheap futaba gear... maybe that was part of it.

Another product to consider is coriplast - the corrugated sheet plastic that you see signs made out of. I made an "antenna holder" last night by cutting a small square piece of coriplast and running the antenna through the corrugations - one run of wire per corrugation. I then zip tied the whole thing to plastic electronics tray on my crawler. Very small and compact and works perfect. Sorry I am at work and have no pictures!

Either way, Still a great idea..Especially to use on those voting signs people always see laying on the side of the road.

Thanks for the suggestion!

This is what I did with my antenna. I took some 12" antenna tube and put small bends in it by heating it with a lighter. The amount of bends will depend on the length of your wire. Once you have it to the length you need it, feed your wire through. This can make a nice, clean install.
