x2 If you building a truck from scratch use the r2 w/ disconnect from rc4wd, and their sevo mounting plate for an easy to assemble unit that works great.

A dig is a drivetrain mechanism that improves turning and can also help with climbing. A dig can come in a couple different styles. Some have 3 modes (normal 4wd, locked rear axle, and free spinnin rear axle). The VF and RC4WD dig are these types. The main advantage is that the free wheel mode is helpful on steep climbs. It keeps the rear axle from driving under the near vertical truck and flipping it over. Another method are the 2-mode digs. These usually have normal 4wd and then free wheel. This do help increase turning, but not as much as a dig that can lock the rear axle.

The RC4WD R2 dig tranny can fit the AX10. I would recommend getting a new Delrin skid plate for this purpose from The Crawler Store (tcscrawlers.com).
