A did setup is a device where you can lock the rear wheels in place so they can drag. Also it will also allow it to freewheel the rear axle indpendant. basiclt front wheel drive. There is tons of info on this sight. Look up rear dig and you will get alot

dig setup?

it acts like a transfer case.. but it allows you to shift out an axle( usually the rear) and have front wheel drive only... this way, you can turn the front wheels and gun the throttle and slide the front over instead of driving forward...makes a tighter turning radius.

x2 on the above, except that shaft driven rigs use dig servos, too. The servo acts on a mechanical mechanism designed to do the same thing, but moves a linkage rather than activating a switch.

A dig servo is the actuator of a sleeve type device that is part of a rear drive shaft for dig. When the servo is triggered from the transmitter, the servo pulls or pushes this sleeve to disengage or re-engage the rear drive shaft. In the case of something like a Clod axled rig though...the servo acts as a lever to activate an electric switch that will stop power from going to the rear motor temporarily.

Both ways gives you a front dig, meaning the rear is not being powered and is just being dragged along for the ride while the front axle does all the work. Let's you steer the front axle all the way one direction, hit the dig switch, and "pivot" on the rear axle.
