| NiMh Batteries in the Cold.
This is similar to the lipo in the cold thread but a little different. I understand that cold will decrease runtimes in all batteries. I also know that you aren't supposed to hot charge the little 2/3 A packs. When it's cold out (40degrees or less) the batteries feel cold to the touch minutes after they have been discharged. How long should you wait before charging? Thanks. |

You shouldnt have problems charging. They just like to be warmer to work efficently. If you store them in your house so they're always at room temp you should have no issues

| Thanks Chris. I guess what I should ask is what does a "hot charge" really mean? I thought you were supposed to wait like an hour to charge or until the battery is cool to the touch. I tried charging my saddle pac once right after discharging and for some reason, the charge didn't really take. It only lasted about 3 minutes. I thought I fried the batt, but it is back up to near normal run times... and I now I wait to recharge for at least a half hour.

Yeah letting em have a breather to cool off is not a bad idea. I would just wait til they cool down some.
