Default The mechanics of the links

Thats an area where my knowledge is almost zero. And I would like to understand how these components work.
For example, why does lenghtening the upper links in an AX10 reduce the torque twist? What is the reson for this?
Why do upper links angle up towards the chassis, but the lower links are more or less parallel to the ground? And has this to be the same front and rear?
Why are upper links V-shaped, but the lower ones run parallel?
I have seen countless pics of different setups, but without the basics I can not understand them.
Please help.
