Default Craw with a 1/18th Losi Raminator?

Came up on a different forum, thought I would ask about it here....

Say you took a 99$ 1/18 Losi Raminator (well, was 99$ last week on sale)

Lock the diffs (JB Weld, Hot Glue, etc), gear it down to a 9T pinion from the 20x it comes with....and maybe narrow the stock rims or get some MRC tires\rims...move the battery around.....etc

I sure some backyard fun could be had from this.....besides the 7" wheelbase....I don't think it would be toooo bad.

I thought about that one time, but never followed up on it. you would probably have to do some suspension changes. I'm not sure what, though as I have never had one of the raminators in my grubby little mits. Is it a TVP style chassis? Maybe try rigging up some sort of 4link...
Let me know if you get that built, could be pretty cool

A person on another board was asking for ideas, as he wanted a crawler, and had this truck to start with. Everyone keeps telling him to just get a MRC, but that defeats the challenge of it. The truck is frequently 99$ on sale at multiple places. (I bought 3 myself actually, due in Monday.)

I think it can be done, and might do ok if the chassis can be stretched about an inch or so to get up to the 8.5" of the 1.9 class rules....only thing else that is in conflict is the dual steering servo setup....I'm sure that can be easy enough as well to change out.

People saying that it can't be done just makes it more of a challenge.....
