Default AX10 advice for painting?

Friends:

I am finishing my first Axial AX10 and need advice on painting the "hull":

I've figured out that you paint the inside. Do I need to mask the windows before painting so they turn out transparent? What is the best way to do this?

Any other painting tips would be welcome.

Thanks amigos!

There is a ton of info in the paint and body section, but definately wash it in soap and water and dry it with a lint free cloth. Prep work means everything with these bodies!

Hi Jeepman!

I found this link:

http://www.cptnet.com/ken/faq.html

...which I might add is outstanding!

My Axial AX10 (Betty B-17 canopy) is my first Rock Crawler, but not my first RC (I have helicopters, sumo bots, an airplane) and now finally this puppy! What I have never done though, is paint a canopy!

Thanks for your quick reply! -Migs

A couple of tips:
1. TAKE YOUR TIME
2. Remember to mask the windows BEFORE you start painting (know a lot of guys that have screwed this up, myself included)
3. Make sure you wash the inside of the body. If you don't, you cool new paint job will rain all over your chassis the first time your truck takes a good shock.
4. If you are unsure and want to practice, cut a 2 ltr soda bottle in half and practice on that.
5. If you are using spray paint, put the can in warm water before you spray and use server light coats. If you trying to cover your bady in the first coat it will run, it will also run under your masks.
