So far I run Axial shocks with aluminum bodies on my AX10 and I run Traxxas Ultra shocks (gray) on my scale build. The Traxxas shocks work great, they never leak!

Basically you want something that is smooth as it moves, long enough for your suspension travel, and leak proof or close to if you are going to run oil in them. just my 2c

depends on what works for your set up imo. What chassis/axles you running. Usually the aftermarket provides numerous amounts of shock sizes for all different types of applications. A few of the more popular shocks are 4" like the Traxxas BigBores and the Losi's Heres a few pics.

Losi:

Traxxas BB's:

For a more lower profile set up you can run 3-3 1/2" shocks like Mini LST, rear Mini T's, Team AE GT's, Revos/Jatos, Traxxas Ultras, just to name a few.

Hot Racing, 3Racing, Integy, Hot Bodies, RC4WD make shocks aswell. Check out a few RCC vendors for a larger selection. Good Luck andheres a few sources to help you on your way.
