| Rooster Crawler with 3 cell lipo?
Is it that the rooster crawler speed control can't handel 3 lipo power? or is it that there just isn't a 3 cell cutoff setting? Thanks

We've met our weekly quota for this question. I can't understand why people ignore the manufactures specs... |

I've read posts that said it worked, but they all said "it worked for a while, then it burned up the ESC".

Dude this is ridiculas, you guys are like sharks. First off i didn't post this in the newb section the moderator moved it here because I think he just didn't get what I was asking, no big deal. When they built the rooster, which was quite a ways back, if you were even crawling then, most people were not running 3 cell lipos in there crawlers. Generally when you design a product its best to base what the general public is looking for to boost sales. This is why the rooster crawler does not support a 3 cell lipo cutoff and this is also why newer speed controls like the FXR do...because thats what people want. A lipo cutoff system not in place, has nothing to do with how much power a speed control can handle.... are you following now? And there are ways of modifying a speed control by puttin in a separate cut off system. I tried searching for this but could not find any info so sorry if you guys don't understand my question. Maybe you should move this back to the electronic section and out of the newb section so other noobs don't try and answer what they clearly don't understand. This forum is for people to be helpful and supportive and people like you guys writing this crap are a waste of others time... have fun crawling over your sofa. |

I think you would have gotten a better response if your question was something like "has anyone successfully modified a Rooster to handle a 3 cell Lipo?" Also - Why not contact Novak directly? The question about the Rooster and 3 cell Lipo has been asked before. |

A:..i just found out a little and am just trying 3s lipo w/ rooster crawler seems another group i belong to has been doing this for a while... to run 3s just need to get a bec to avoid fryin the rx...n stuff like i said though i am not the expert on this, i always thought 7cell was the limit for rooster (per specs)but i was blissfully wrong wow what a difference w/ the 11.1v! as for a cut off it wont do it...i think they have a "thing"...lipo cut off available that might do 3s and yes my next ESC will be a tekin or castle!! | |

Give the guy a break, I get tired of people asking questions and getting jumped all over. If you are bitter and don't want to answer a question, DON'T LOOK IN THE TECH SECTION. We were all new at one point in time (and still are for that matter). Relax, it's a question... Rant off. |

I moved this thread into the newb section so the guy wouldn't get attacked. If you guys think he was attacked in this thread, you're gonna have to grow some thicker skin or just avoid RCC as best as you can. Not two days go by when a thread asking how many volts, or how many cells, or why won't the Rooster Crawler work on 3S lipo appears. You'll read the same thing over and over. "It can handle it for a short time then the smoke flies and the controller fries." If that doesn't answer his question, I don't know what does. Novak rates the RC for 2S lipo max, BECAUSE THATS ALL IT CAN HANDLE. Don't you think Novak would rate it for higher if it would RELIABLY handle more voltage? |
