Default How much torque will i loose?

going from a 55t to a 45T?

its something im debating doing tonight.

im running a 55t with a 14t pinion right now.

id hope for a lil bit more wheelspeed @ the end of my throttle, but will i loose torque and the ability to creep?

if i did it, i get the novak 45 and a 10-12t pinion.

what do you guys think?

Most likely you wont notice any loss. There should be a good enough wheelspeed gain for you to notice it though. Personally the 45t with 14t pinion is what I prefer unless I can stuff a 7t Cobalt in there.

Because of the low voltages we use, I would say you will actually gain torque on net. When I get my motors dynod at 7v, around 30t shows peak torque.

For me that would be a simple choice. I would either get a cheap Integy because of price, or I would go to Holmes and get one of his handwound motors. Sorry, but I, as well as most anyone else that's used JRH's motors, have the same opinion that there's really no substitute for what he does.

Yup, if it's a money thing simply get an Integy. It'll be good enough for a while while you save up for an HH motor.

Strictly personal opinion on that though, but most everyone that's tried his motors would probably have the same opinion.

If it was me I would go with a 35T and a 12t pinion.

That's what I ran for a while. An Integy 45 and 10T pinion. It worked great.

scx10 scaler all stock
Radio shack 3300 7.2 volt nimh 25 bucks (part #23-319)
Tamiya Silver can mabuchi motor 17 bucks
Old style Tekin Rebel
stock 14 tooth pinion
Low speed tourqe ,,,plenty and low speed control,,,perfect
Only mod was 4oz wheel weight in each front wheel
Top end just barely pulls away from my brisk walk pace.
Run time,,,Lots of full throttle passes and some crawling,,,
Who knows ,,I stopped at 25 minutes cause i wanted to finish
my truck body and I discharged the nimh to cut off at 12 amps
that took 8 minutes more,,,

Integy is a great crawler motor!! I'm running the Novak Rooster Crawler, 7-cell saddle pack battery, 45T Integy with stock 14T pinion. I still have tons of torque and wheels speed!

Same here except FXR Pro with 8 cell here. Plenty of slow speed control and power enough to easily break something if over abusive.
