Im pretty sure Oxy/acetaline(spelling) gas welding would work fine, just be specific with the tip you use, as in be careful how big it is. i dont know about welding that kinda "small" material. but thats my best guess!

The only metal ive attempted to weld together for this was 3/16 solid music wire. It worked nicely, but to be honest its a pain to bend and brazing seemed to be easier and faster. Thats just my opinion though

I have used 3/16 solid steel, and also 3/16 brake line for material. Solid steel is heavier be way easier to weld. I have a Lincoln Mig that I use. I works great. When I use it on the brake line, I realy have to watch the heat and take my time with it. But is strong enough and it is lighter.

It would be eaiser to either braze it or braze weld it. If your really good with a tourch you could do it that way but you would really have to watch your heat when you fuse it together. Rod could be really hard to add, but it could be done if you have some mad skills.
