| sand buggy/rock crawler
ok so i'm totally new to the r/c world in general so bear with me last year my bro bought a axial ax10 rtr and loves it. i thought it was pretty cool so i've been looking around and i'm thinking about getting the axial ax10 rtc which should be great for crawling right out of the box. my problem is that while i love rock crawling and have been doing so full scale for most of my life, i also live near the oceano dunes and i would love an r/c truck that can blast throuh the sand if i get the rtc i'll have a crawler, but i dont know what i would need to do to turn it into a sand buggy on various ocasions so my question is this: what motor and or spur/pinion combo would be good for blasting through the sand? |

Well buddy, Id hate to say it but you wont "Blast" through the sand and have fun. I would buy it, then grab a traxxas slash for about 130 bucks and put some sand paw tires on it. Then you will blast through the sand, and have 2 great trucks |

Yeah get a slash if you want to play in the sand. I have one with a Mamba Max 7700 and it is epic in sand. |

My rock racer with 81/22 gearing, 21 turn Holmes Hobbies Handwound motor, and 3S 2100mAh LiPo will run about 18 mph and is a blast to drive. Below is a pic of it jumping the fire pit. It was clearing about a 6 ft gap. Also check out Bender's old rock racer. |
