Default What is a good speed for a crawler?

Scx10 with 4 inch tires, I prefer going slow, but I also want to keep up with the guys. What do you think would give me enough torque to keep my tires from slipping and also getting wheel speed it I need it.

stock axial with a $25 budget, the 65turn motor I have doesn't get the job done.

I have a 55T in my scaler and its very slow. If I was going to get a new motor I think I would go with a 35T so I could get more wheelspeed but still have nice torque

35T

If you are still not satisfied you could go up a 1-2 teeth on the pinion. With the small tires you won't notice much loss in TQ.

Both a motor and pinion should still fit your budget.

Upgrading to Lipo will also give you a boost in speed if your wallet can handle it.

I agree with TLTRyan, i just bought the SCX10 and have it set up with a 35T. It gives me good wheel speed and enough torque to get where I need. FYI: I'm running the Flatiron 1.9 tires on mine with a 6 cell venom pack and for now seem to be pretty happy with that. As you may already know, with this hobby, I'm sure I'll get bored with it and want more. So I'll probably go Lipo soon. Good luck!

I run a Cobalt puller on 3s in mine. A stupid amount of torque, yet enough wheel speed that you have to jog to keep up with it.

Kinda out of your budget though...I'd go with a 35t. I wound one up from an old Integy 65t motor I had and love it.
