Default Run time

Is there a limit to run time? Do you have to stop after so long to let things cool down, or are you able to run infinitly if you had enough batteries? I ask because it'd be nice to take the time and gas money to drive out somewhere to be able to crawl for longer than 30-45 min without having to stop for an extended period of time to let things cool down. I'd like to be able to make a day out of it.

That really depends on your setup. I'm running a low-stress set up, 65T motor with 2/3 C batteries (one 7-cell, two 6-cell), I can pretty much run until my batteries are dead and my electrons don't get warm at all (crawler rooster).

Now, if you are running MOA with low turn motors you ESC will heat up a lot and you'll have to take breaks. If your drive train binds it will put added stress on you motor, which puts added stress on your ESC and it will run hot... :?

I've got an Axial Scorpion With a Novak Crawler Brushless. Been running 4200's and I get a little better than 1 1/2 hour run time for each battery (have 2). I stop long enough to change the battery. I need a break before my truck does.

I’m running a 6-cell saddle pack over the axel with a Tekin FXR ESC. I think getting the batteries out from under the body helps keep everything cool. I normally get around 50 minutes of runtime and then change my packs and keep going.
