| battery and charger for AX10 RTR
I am about to buy the Axial AX10 RTR (ax90002), and I was looking for some recomendations on batteries and chargers. I am on a budget so im looking for something that will be a good start, not something that i will use forever. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Geoff

An iMax B5, or one the many "clones" on eBay, is a good, cheap charger that'll be fine for most packs. Same with batteries - a LiPo pack of 1500mAH to 2500mAH from eBay will do the job. |

i a also thinking about getting a rtr but in some help with the battery and charger. i am getting rtr from tcs and these are what i have for the battery http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Batteries-p-1-c-123.html i am not sure if i should go with the 6 cell 1500mah 7.2 split pack for performance and less running time or the 3600mah 7.2 venom stick pack for more running time. this truck is not going to be in any comps it is just a truck i am going to have fun with in my backyard and inside it is more like a basher. can u plz suggest a good charger from tcs for a pretty low price. |

The split packs are better for crawling while the stick pack with a higher mah is better for more bashing. If you are crawling you want the weight of the batteries over the axles instead of up high where most RTR crawlers have them. 1500 mah lasts a while crawling, much longer than running through the grass. If crawling is the goal I would go with split packs. If a basher that will take some non crawling offroad use you may be better suited to have the longer run times. It really comes down to the use more than anything. As for chargers I would get a peak charger. If you are buying local look for something that has a decent range in the charge speed so that you don't charge small batteries too fast and that larger batteries get finished in a reasonable amount of time.

IMHO,one of the best, most versatile charges on the market is the Hyperion EOS0606I AC/DC Charger It'll charge dang near any kind of cell you have around the house plus nearly anything you'd run in an RC car. I use mine daily. A top notch pack that won't break the bank is the Holmes Hobbies 25C 1300mah lipo. One thing I learned the hard way a long time ago...you get what you pay for when it comes to chargers and batteries in the RC hobby. It's cheaper to buy a little better the first time around. Your equipment will last longer and provide allot better performance |
