Default Can anyone make me custom delrin links?

Is there any one here Vendor or garage hobby guys who can make me some delrin links in a particular style?

The style im after is somthing like the RC4WD killer krawler (short weelbase) links (but without the shock mount).

Any one capable of doing this??

I've made my own straight links - easy to do with a lathe - but I'd be interested to know if there's an easy way to make bent links from Delrin.

Ah - I didn't think of cutting them from flat Delrin.

Is there a way of reliably heating and bending round stock to make bent links?

For the price and QUALITY, I'd pm R2j Kustoms. You can't go wrong. He's the man for all your delrin link needs.
And your supporting an rcc vendor. Shon, is the guy you need for work like you've asked about.

Yup. put the link in a vice, heat it at the spot you want it bent till it gets shiny, remove the heat, bend till it is where you want it and hold for a a minute.

Have you ever done any "testing" to see if heating and bending delrin
makes it weak or brittle at the heated area?

Just wonderin'.

I use a heat gun and my composite tubing bender. Don't over heat, that's where you'll lose integrity in the material. If it bubbles, it's toast.

Thanks

Another question:
Does Delrin spring back when you release it from the tube bender, and is it best to leave it to cool down naturally or cool it with water?

I'm guessing that, since it's thermoplastic, you just leave it in the tube bender until it's re-set.

Sorry to jack this thread. It does spring back, and I let it cool some naturally then cool it more under water. Once it cools its set to that shape. Amazing material, I really like working with it.
