Default what ESC for 50 T

I bought a venom fireball brushed 50 T motor. I don`t know what ESC I should go for with it.

1] I see the Motor is defined in T (turns) & the ESC is defined in Amps, so how to relate these two ?

2] Are all brushless type ESC capable of handling a brushed motor?.

Just about any ESC will do, it will all depends on the features that you want: drag break, BEC, etc.. The Novak Crawler ESC has worked well for me for my 65T.

1) Not sure what the current draw per turn is, but almost any ESC on the market should be able to handle the lower current draw of that high turn motor.

2) I haven't checked all of them, but some are able to run both brushed and brushless. Most of the Castle Creations ESCs work with both types of motors.

In my opinion, the Castle Creations Sidewinder is a good ESC for your setup.

I checked out the Sidewinder & it works with both brushed & brushless

but my problem to understand the technical relation between a motor & ESC still persist. I read somewhere that a guy used a $ 20 esc used in an rc bike on a rockcrawler he used it for quite a while & din`t burn anything. Is that how flexible ESC can be?
I called in venom group & they said that I can use any ESC rated above 27 T , but I noticed that ESC have an Amp rating :?

Well, the lower the number of turns, the higher the current draw will be for that motor. So, they told you that 27T is the maximum limit, meaning that you can use 27T, 28T, 29T....55T.....80T....etc.

As for the current draw per turn, I am quite sure that figure will vary greatly depending on the manufacturer and components used to build the motor. I am sure that you can contact Venom and ask them the specfics of the motor. Their customer service contact info is: 1-800-705-0620
