| axiol vs venom ? which to get?
Should I get a used ax10 with Bent links, Steel lockers Front/Middle/Rear, Tekin FXR Rock crawler combo w/55t motor and programable ESC, High Torque Traxxas Servo, 2 Saddle Pack Batteries included w/ deans connectors, TCS Edge Tube Chassis...it comes with a couple of 8 cell split packs. for x amount of dollars... Or go new with one of the venom crawlers. Tekin FXR , what ever servo & no batteries equals about the same price. I will need to add a radio with both... I have a new traxxas TQ3 transmitter and reciever that I plan on using... What do you guys think. |

My buddy has one that he did a stock build on probably about year and half ago.. he has replaced the cvds with metal, and the steering knuckles and some better tires , not much ... he got me playing with it... and now I dont want anything to do with my Tmaxx.. I have got crawler fever.. I bought a used superclass clod axle torsion rig on evil bay... to play around with.. but I want one that is a 2.2, so we can be playing on fair ground when we get together... You know its funny, I was all about the speed before.. gotta have the next whatever. 40 mph out of the box isn't fast enough I want more... and of course we jumped them higher and higher, now I am searching everywhere I drive looking for someplace to climb..Very slowly,,,, I can tell this is my new "drug" The price is what got me thinking of the venom.. and since its newer is it a better design? I don't know? I know the aftermarket hasent caugh up with it yet. but at that price it may be so popular that there will be a ton of stuff for it.. in what areas do you guys think one truck has a advantage over the other? balance, clearance shocks etc... I say AX10 but Im biased. Read up on both here. So far that venom has build issues and missing parts. And some complaints about part fit. On my ARTR the only thing I didnt like was the slop in the links from the 3 point (fixed with O rings or small pieces of nitro fuel tube) and the slop that appeared in the front C hubs and knuckles. Youll wear those out in time and alim parts are like 45$ total. It looks like your looking at a uesde AX a link or images could help others give opinion or spot possible issues. So far it sounds like stock venom creeper vs a AX that has some mods. Either way read up on build threads in the creeper section then read up in the AX section. you should form your own opinion from those posts. |

This is what I'm looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123 Also is there a trick to the classified section? All I see is a feedback section? is it because I'm new? Last edited by Grizzly4x4; 08-26-2009 at 12:46 AM. Reason: post padding |

Venom is much better for the price, in the end you end up changing everything on the Axial for a higher price. Alot of those things you don't need to change on the Venom.

I run the AX10 ARTR and I've been happy the whole time I've had it. I guess it wouldn't be fair to judge, but at the comps I go to you'll be lucky to see 1 Venom Crawler out of 50 rigs. Go with the AX10. |

just be like everyone else and buy the same thing that everybody else has. i saw the venom on ebay for $119, most times you end up buying the parts online either way, at least i do, so you will find venom parts online for sure. for the price you can't beat the venom. |

Go with a BERG "MOA" trust me. I"v got 12 shaftys, 1 Venom and 2 Bergs. Your 1st rig always starts out as a RTR or ARTR but a month later your dumping more money into it on Hop Ups because you see somthing your buddy has and you got to have it to. Next thing you no your rig is worth $800 to $1000 You now have a pile of extra stock parts and you say "wow" I can build another one with the extra parts and so it contiues. A nice Berg set up will run you $900 to $1300 and now you will be ready to rule the rocks! PS: If you dont go with the MOA Berg I"d go with the AX10. |

The Venom kits is cheaper than the ax10 kit. If you want to do more than run it stock though it is going to be much easier with the ax10. It all depends on if you want something stock or custom.

ax-10 by far, verry durable crawler! in board the bent links and your golden!, they'll still get hung up a lot if you dont inboard them, ive noticed that between my 2 crawlers the inboarded links (on losi) they get hung up a lot less and arient even bent
