Default TLT-1 drive shaft help needed!!

Hi everyone,

I've had a look around with the Search function, and found that the best choice of driveshaft for the TLT-1 is the Stampede sliders. This requires me to either butcher my stock diff, run a Vertigo locker, a 4-Tec diff, or a Stampede tranny.

I dont really want to do this as yet, so I'm looking for a different solution.

I've got the following.

Maxx shocks
108mm top links
96mm bottom links
Link mounts have been moved to top and side of axle as per Newbie tutorial on TLT-1.

Any suggestions as to what dog bones I can run?

Cheers!

it doesn't matter what dogbones you run, they're going to fall out when your axle articulates with a stock chassis. you'll spend as much time looking for your dogbones as you will crawling.

seriously. i've been there, and it blows. of all the options, the 4-Tec diff is the most painless because you can use sliders, but you're still dealing with the stock TLT belt and all of its limitations.

when the belt shreds after your third battery pack, look into a Pede tranny and you'll wonder why you messed around with trying to make a belt and dogbones work. it's not as hard as it sounds. once you've got the Pede tranny you can work on a better chassis and you're on the road to crawler nirvana.

I second what goat said...I tried running dogbones to for a while...my first setup laid the stock tranny sideways (what a wide setup that was...) and I made longer dogbones....sucked bigtime. Just bite the bullet and get a 'pede, rustler, or bandit tranny (there are all the same, save for the spur gear the kit ships with) and use it. You will be alot happier!
