| Hard bodies
I was wondering if the only way to get a hard body for a scale crawler was to buy a toy r/c from wal-mart or is there somewhere that sells them specifically for this. Also when you buy one from wal-mart do you just sand the color off and start doing the body work that you want or how do you go about preping it for what you are wanting to do with it. this might be discussed somewhere on here but i didnt find it. thanks in advance for the help.

there are some options out there, so far the best idea aside from wal-mart is tamiya bodies. they 3 most popular are the wrangler, the high lift f-350, and of course the toyota hi-lux, also wonderful for a scaler project.

Tamiya has a handful of bodies, the clodbuster is a chevy, blackfoot is 90's ford as well as the ones LS1 listed. unfortunately for the price you can buy a newbright off the shelf at wally-world Kamtech in the UK (search for their e-bay store) has some neat styrene bodies, but they are thinner and not highly detailed as far as body work on the newbright goes, you are better off with a chemical stripper like brake fluid or denatured alcohol. other than that, you can scratch build if you have the patience for it. |
