Default nub with axial.. motor and servo ??

i just picked up an axial ax10 roller to start in this hobby with i was hoping to find out what to look for in a motor and also servos? i plan to do rear steering also (just for the cool factor) but ive been out of the game and not sure what to look for in a servo, or motor. any help is appreciated! thanks!!

Get a motor from Holmes Motors and get an JR 8711 servos. Great start.

i will look that up, i know the higher the KV ratting the better correct? also the higher the torque on the servo the best?

seems on thier website they are out of stock or discontinued.. any alternatives to the holmes?

You can use an integy 45t motor and when he gets more later I would get one. But the integy 45t will work fine right now. They are $24.99.

thank you for the links, i see that i can choose the wind. any recomendations? i want the most tq, but also want to be able to "jump" the crawler on rocks.

also i would prefer to run brushless and lipo's

I would stay with brushed motors and run a 45t or 35t on a 3s lipo. Unless you have a sensored brushless esc you would not have very good low speed driveability, and I believe the holmes brushless motors are not sensored, but his brushed motors are excellent. As for servos it all depends on how much power you want and how much you want to spend a Hitec 645mg will work fine at about $35 or you can go for a servo with 300+ oz of torque but they will run anywhere from about $120 to $200 I have been running a Hitec 5995 on a couple of my rigs for close to 2 years without a problem if you do run something with over 200oz of torque I would suggest also running a bec even with a lower priced servo it wouldnt' be a bad idea.

yeah i have a sensorless mamba max esc that i would like to use for this.

does holmes offer a cheeper motor speed control set up then $150.00 ??? (that will work well with a crawler)
