| Brushed or Brushless for crawling
I understand the difference between the 2 when it comes to racing but what are the differences when it come to crawling? Does 1 have more torque and does one have better drag brake capabilities. So what are the answers?

i like runing brushed i think once you find a good motor just run it. brushless is smooth if you get a low speed motor it should work great. alot of people run brushed on the ax10 and brushless on the losi. but to answer the main question. what ever you think runs best for you. i would get a brushless and run it , if you don't like it ,sell it or keep it for a rainy day. |

Brushless motors have poor low speed/startup control. That is what crawlers need. The only brushless I'd run in a crawler is the tekin rs 21.5/17.5 sensored system. Hey tekin, want to set me up?????? |

I would recommend brushed. When I first started out crawling I thought Brushless was the way to go coming from onroad drifting and racing. I then found out $500 dollars later that brushed motors work better for crawling. The only exception to that is the Losi. Some of the Losi Drivers I know use brushless and it just flat out works. AX10 or Berg= Brushed Losi= Brushless |

anyone run the 35a ezrun esc with the 32t crawler motor? I have a 35a ezrun esc kicking around, thought maybe I'd try the crawler motor with it.

I run brushed motors and ESC's (FXR/45T) in all of my comp crawlers. The price and throttle control is excellent If you go brushless make sure its sensored. The Tekin RS/21.5 works great. I used it with an SCX-10 and also a Losi CC. As a last resort you can run sensorless but you have to use a low kv outrunner motor close to 1000kv. It will be slow and a little jumpy at start up but it will work. |

i've got a 2s novak goat esc with their 21.5 turn motor. I have very good slow speed control. No jumping at start-up. Great throttle control. Good wheelspeed. I run a 7 cell batt.
