I know you said you didn't want to buy a whole truck. If your new to this,in all honesty,it might be a better way. Say you buy a set of axles and build your tuber. You will need an aray of fasteners, wheels, tires, shocks and alot of other bit's and pieces. If you buy a set of TXT axles, add a tranny to that list along with a few other things. Both the crawlers me and my son have built, were both bought as a kit and built from there. I bought 2 Twin Force kits and dang near used EVERY piece that came in the kit. My honest opinion,a Twin Force or a TXT is the way to go. Shaft driven trucks(the ones you see with actual working driveshafts) are funner to build in my opinion. You actually have to have a brain and plan your build to make a decent crawler. Theres an actual challenge to building and they are funner to drive. Clods,in my opinion, are the EASY way out. A monkey could build a Clod crawler. On top of that, you have itty bitty axles that will break easier when running bigger tires |
