What kind of welder are you going to use? The only one I could forsee you having a chance with would be a MIG, but I am not sure how easy it will be to stick the tubes together. Most people on here use a brazing rod, which can be bought from most welding stores. Use the search button and look at chassis completed and read what they used. Most every one of them will have a list of materials used. OR...you could go to the homepage of this site, and go under tech articles and see how, step by step, to build a tube chassis from brakeline. Lots of time was spent on it for just this topic. If you do have a mig though, turn down the heat all the way, with a slower wire speed and just tack the tubes together if you can. Goodluck. Leach |

i welded it just fine on a lincoln 110 welder with both the heat and the wire speed turned all the way down. i did it that way because i absolutely suck at brazing! scoot |

Using a torch and brass filler rod to "weld" pieces together.

I've welded some brakeline together, after working on my 1:1 Toyota crawler and building big stuff,it's TOUGH to weld the little brakeline and have look worth a hoot. Brazing will be easier and leave a MUCH better finished product. |
