Default K2-3L 1.9 or Axial

Hey I am looking for my first crawler... Wondering if a K2-3L chassis with tlt axels and 1.9 would be good or if I should just go to the Axial truck

please offer a suggestion I have about 250.00 to spend and would like a rtr Truck. I have a bunch of 6-7cell nicads and a charger.

Any Suggestions would be great thanks.

Well for your first crawler how much work are you willing to do? How familiar are you with suspension setups?

You can build a very capable crawler using the K2 chassis and tlt axles, but you will need to put the work in yourself to set up a working suspension and drivetrain to get good results.

The SCX10 on the other hand has all of the suspension geometry worked out for you well enough to get you going, and also as a baseline for any modifications you might want to do later on to tweak and tune vs starting from scratch the other route.

Either way you go, have fun, ask questions of others on here and be sure to post a build thread

the TLT truck is already set up as 1.9 FJ its for sale in the sale section rtr just needs battery added to it... So I am just asking I guess will I be as happy with that setup as I would be just getting the axial truck? I dont know about parts and what not are they still easy to get for the tlt axels.. do they hold up as well as the axial axels so on and so forth I just want to get the best bang for the buck... wifes putting a crunch on my spending..

Oh...sorry I misunderstood I thought you were talking about starting from scratch.

I dont have any first hand experience with TLT axles so I can't really give you any more insights on those.
