Question Poll: To vent, or not to vent... that is the question...

Yes, thats my question, my beadlocks are sealed tight no vent holes in the rims, in your guys opinions should I drill my rims to vent, I would think I would get better traction because the tire can conform to the rock... what do you guys think?

i dont think there are too many people that dont have their wheels/tires vented one way or the other, so i would say yes. i have seen one guy in particular that didnt have his wheels vented and the tires are too bouncy and puffy which imo = no bueno senor. i used to vent my wheels, but have recently tried venting my tires instead just cuz. .. .

Yes, vent them. Rims or tires, your choice. I forgot to vent my tires on my SCX10 when I first got it. I live at sea level. Made a trip up to the mountains and found that my tires grew!

I new to the crawling world but I`d think you will get more traction if vented as more contact patch on the surface .

No, no comp! These were 1.9 Flat Irons. The tires were rounded and bouncy. Couldn't get traction for shit.

i run water in my tires for weight so i dont vent my wheels. the water isn't as prone to expanding as air and the water weight keeps the bounce down. air will give you a lot of bounce though. but most people will say vent them.

i found it to work amazing if you pull your foams out and put the beadlocks on....it sealed mine and you have all the traction you want!

then you have no side hilling abilty and allows your lugs to fold over which means less traction

its all about a good faom set up, and venting on a comp rig tire/ wheel combo and for scale i keep the sealed up so i dont get water in my tires

Definitely vent! Other wise you may get too much bounce per ounce.

if running them in cold weather fill them with washer fluid, then you dont have to worry about frezing.
