a dig will allow you to lock one axel (wheels stop moving) while the other keeps goin. most common on axials are the VP, DNA, ErITEX and a few others not really worth mentioning. these all mount to your trucks tranny and via a servo and gear system, allow us to lock are rear wheels to assist on turns, climbs, overhangs etc, have those wheels spin freely w/o power (free wheel) and normal 4wd Now Losis have dual dig, so they can lock both front anr rear wheels, but no fre wheel. those are mechanical digs. MOA rigs have front and rear dig electronically. opposed to a gear system, power is cut to the motors via an electronic switch. use the search function to find some pics. the great thing is Billet Works is coming out twith a universl dig system that mounts on the axel or the transmission. mounting on the axel will allow axials to have both front and rear dig, as well as doing wonders for our COG. the "U-Dig" is not out yet though. |
