Lower the COG is the biggest thing. Move battery and electronics to the axles/links. Also, if you are going to weight the wheels then get a new steering servo. I blew the stock one with the Losi being stock.

To gain more traction especially at the front axle. Placing your battery and or electronics at the links or axles will help lower all the weight down on the chassis making traction better and reducing the top heaviness of your rig. Good luck! |

| Like ToTheMaXXcrawler said if you lower your weight it will keep the rig from turning over as easy. Big thing in comps since you do a lot of stuff on the side of inclines.

The 2 main things are.....add a crapload of weight to the front wheels, and a full size servo.

you can use a cheap servo at first. I used the stock servo off my sons rtc for a while. now I am running a ht 645 with no bec and no problems. you really need to check out the losi mini rock crawler section in the forum. look and read how most of the trucks are set up. you want all your wieght as low as you can get it. but first things to do is as follows. 1.alum knuckles/dont worry about the collars the plastics are good enough and lighter 2.cvd's and alum.hex's and locker for axles and trans 3.better servo/steering links 4.better driveshafts/steel yokes,I used stamped shafts with metal yokes 5.mongoss system or a quality esc and motor/I run the goose 6.chassis with links/I run slingshot 7.shocks/you may go through a few pair trying to find what works/I run losi mini slider fronts 8.wheels/tires I run dna snippers but would like delrin rears=less wieght and cut and shut cougars 9.lipo batt. around 800mah is common I have a 250 mah that is good for 1 course 10.spectrum 3r it will give you many tuning options, mainly throttle curve well I hope there are some guys comping these trucks in your area these are expensive little trucks, but they are fun as hell to drive Last edited by rock hard; 01-07-2010 at 11:47 PM. |

I will disagree with the need for CVD's...especially the Losi CVD's. Their design is flawed, and they will break. If you can get the MIP CVD's, then great, but avoid the Losi CVD's.
