Default Out of the Box Crawler

Ok, newbie question of course. Just getting into crawling, want to do some comps this year possibly. Not new to RC. Currently have the Losi MRC and the micro. In your opinion what out of the box crawler is the most competent and why? I have narrowed it down to two myself from what I have read and word of mouth, Losi Comp Crawler or AX-10. I am kind of a purist and will probably end up with a scaler too but for the 2.2 class I don't want an MOA. I understand they make the best crawlers per se but maybe later.

Craig,

Well i bought the team losi nightcrawler and right out of the box, i went to a comp and place 10 out of 30, it is a great rtr out of the box truck, i would buy another lol.

But if you want a kit truck that you'd have to add electronics to i'd say the losi comp crawler would be a good choice, they both out perform the Ax10 right out of the box. plus with the losi comp crawler you get dig, dig is a great feature, and losi has it down. it works flawlessly, i'm currently putting the losi comp crawler dig transmission into my nightcrawler.

But i hope this gives you some help, btw losi's customer service rocks

Good luck on getting into crawling,
Lance

Thanks for the response. I am leaning towards the Losi. Is there a big difference in the Night Crawler and the Comp Crawler?

I am pretty sold on the comp crawler. Is it that much better than the AX-10 or is just the cost to upgrade the AX-10 to make it competitive? I understand the dig is a big deal but other than that?

I think it is mainly that new tranny they got with the built in front and rear dig... I have to admit I just got a Creeper and got it setup how I like it and I already have LCC envy.... lol

It's easy.....

Hitec 7955TG Servo
Tekin FXR ESC
CC BEC
Holmes Handwound 35T motor
CKRC 11.1v 1300mah battery
Dynamite 4060 charger
Losi LOSB0822 MSX12 Digital Mini Servo for DIG
Futaba 3PM 2.4 radio w/receiver

Did I miss anything?

I'm using a sidewinder esc with a 12t cobalt puller brushed motor w/fan on 2s lipo. I went this route cause I allready had the esc and it will only do sensorless brushless or brushed. Stuck with the brushed. There are a lot of setups that will work good, but if I started from scratch, 3s goat system or mambamax pro is what I would choose. I think sensored brushless is the ticket for this crawler.
