Default Proline 2 stage foams

I just go the Proline 2.2" 2 stage foams. I want to cut the inner harder foam a bit to make it easier to put the bead locks back on. I am thinking about cutting from 1/4"-1/2" off of each and leaving the memory foams as they came. I have the HB Rover tire.

Any suggestions as to if and how much I should cut?

I use the Pro Line 2 stage foams with Losi Comp claws on LCC wheels. I did not have to trim the inner foams at all.

I would suggest sliding the inner foam over your wheel to help you determine how much to remove. You could also try mounting it up without trimming the foam too.

See which way works best for the tire....

I've ran the 2 stage in rovers on proline titus (junk wheels with a weak hex that don't hold a bead for crap), stock ax10 and vanquish DH procomp wheels and thought the inner foam was fine. Maybe you need to change the way you mount them unless your running a super skinny wheel.

I just have the stock wheels for now. I will try it out and see what it is like before I cut them then.

Thanks,

DONT CUT THE FOAM!! The 2 stage foam is designed to help with sidewall support not just tire support. Cutting the inner foam that much will definitely decrease performance from these foams. The proline 2 stage has a fairly small inner foam as it is, and if you cut it even more, you'll essentially be wasting your money on them.

You'll just have to LEARN how to mount your tires and foams on your wheels.

I used to run the Proline 2 Stage on my 1" wide wheels and I've never had much of a problem mounting them. It just take practice and patience.
