| Motor for GD600
I'm waiting on a Mantis chassis and will soon be putting together my first crawler. I've already ordered my GD600 and had planned on getting a 27t MM motor. Now I realize those motors are in short supply and hard to find. I have searched the site and saw one post talking about a 35 or 45t lathe motor being used with a GD600. What alternatives do you guys suggest motor-wise if I can't find a 27t MM? Thanks for any help.

Check out the vendor section, rc4wd has some in stock 29.99. That is if when you say MM you mean Magnetic Mayhem, and I thought they were 22t? I may be wrong. Here they are: http://rc4wd.com/shop/product_info.p...roducts_id=759 |

Everything I've been told is that I should use the 27t MM. If the 22t motors are ok, then I can go with one of them.

Magnetic Mayhem (MM) motors are 22 turn. The only 27 turn motor I know of is the Johnson Motor. Which one are you refering to? |

Thanks. I guess I was mistaken about the MM. I thought someone had told me I needed a 27 turn MM. If they only come in 22t, then that's what I need.

The MM is 22t. It's like a mod motor for Clods. Johnson isn't the only company to make 27 turn motors, there's Mabuchi also. The same thing Tamiya has been putting in their vehicles for the last 908 years. In a GD600 the MM was good. But mine was replaced with a Mabuchi 540 27 turn and I changed the gearing around for the same speed and the battery lasted longer, and the motor had the same power. They both ended up a medium walking speed when flooring it. In otherwords, if you have a Tamiya silver can laying around, try that. |

I do have one or two Tamiya silver motors from a couple of Tamiya Hummers I run. I'm not sure if they say how many turns or what size they are though. Is there a way to tell by looking? Thanks.
