| Why is MOA crawler better than Shaft crawler
Im pretty convinced now after reading numerous threads that MOA based crawlers are better comp rigs than Shaft driven crawlers. But why? I still haven't found the reason. The only thing I can think of is with shafts is the CG. The shaft affecting the amount of Gc you can have. The other thing is Having two separate motors with allow you to have different pinions there fore different torq. Other than that, Each crawler can be setup almost the same. Are these the reasons they're better? Last edited by Snaut Rocket; 02-05-2010 at 08:09 PM. |

Its not...Delete this thread before someone else gets that wrong idea. Im changing over one of my Losi's to MOA at this very moment. So In awhile Ill be able to tell you that for sure. But Im going to have to try and prove it to myself first.

Lower center of gravity. No torque twist. Is this question really necessary? It's only been answered 10,000 times at least.

Way better COG because the motors are on the axles (weight down low), their isnt a trans to be mounted on the chassis so their is hardly any weight above the chassis, you can have more ground clearance and retain better COG because of the weight so low, ect ect.

So you say your "pretty convinced" that MOA's are better but you still are asking us why? If you read all tho's posts, wouldn't you have found the reason in them already? Come on, Seriously, You answered your own question in your own thread yet are still asking us to prove it. Is it just me, or is it Brett Favre, behind that user ID?:?

Do MOA's run in a different class then a single motor rig with or without punk digs? If so are the courses more advanced for an MOA?

What I meant was everybody says Moa crawlers are better and I believed it. I just wanted to know the facts on why?

Shafties are capable of competing at top level for sure. But when it comes to running the 'impossible lines', MOAs take advantage of thier ground clearance. |

I'd be willing to bet that if you get a MOA with an experienced and SMART driver, that they will probably embarrass you | |

You'll find that most people who give up on thier 2 month old shafties and run to MOA's are either too stupid to figure out setups, or too lazy to do the work. MOA's will cover up shitty driving that would normally get you in trouble with a shafty. Dig is handy to have, but its easy to depend on it too much and use it as a band-aid for poor driving skills. A driver who practices between comps, reads and works to understand chassis tuning, and who makes smart modifications is a dangerous driver to anyone who he might compete with, be it shafty or MOA. |
