| New night crawler
Just got my sons new RTR night crawler in, anything special I need to know or do before firing it up? I've heard some rumors about the worm gears sometimes being wrong and should they need greased or anything before running?

Also, hearing that these stock motors are a little weak, is this true? If so what motor do you suggest keeping in mind that I have purchased a spare Losi comp crawler tranny with the dig that will be going on it later when money permites?

I took my LNC out of the box and ran it, no problems. I think the wrong worm gears were a problem of older LCC's. As far as the motor goes it is adiquite but leaves some to be desired, most will say a 35t preferably handwound, or if you got the $$$ brushless is hard to beat. Also weight in the in the tires helps with crawling, but it will amplify the motor and servo weaknesses. |

I like brushless, if I go that way will the same ESC work or will it need an upgrade? Just trying to keep the cost down if you know what I mean. Thanks

If you want to go brushless, your best bet would be a sensored brushless/esc combo.

Ya for brushless the cheapest new is aroun 150 for motor and esc. Sometimes used goat 2s systems come up in the classifieds for under a 100. It is amaing though what a little wheel speed can do for you're crawling.
