Exclamation HELP: Looking to make the Lipo Switch.

Where should I look for a good 3s setup? I would like a decent run time, but in a small package, and cheaper is better.. What do you guys recommend?

rhino makes a good 3s 40 amp cont, 50amp burst, more then u will need for almost any crawler motor, its small fits on the front axle, and decent rum time, but that will vary depending on what your set up is, motor tun, servo size, rig weight etc etc,

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0C_Lipoly_Pack

the winforce lipos you can find on e-bay are decent, 25c cont, 1500mah, and once again will fit on the front axle, i ran them for a while, they charged and balanced well, (within .1volt which is decent for a cheapo lipo) but if you ever drop a cell below 3volt there is no hope what so ever of recovery, not even with a quick zap on nimh setting, it will come back and charge but wont hold it.

these would be your cheaper options with out being complete garbage

Right now im using Turnigy 3s 1300mah packs from hobbycity and getting about 40+ minutes of run time in my sportsman per pack, they are great for about $8 a piece! Ive also used EC Power packs in the past (www.ecpower.com.hk) and its $22 for 2 3s 1500's shipped, they are also very good batteries.

Thanks for the replies!

I am running a Novak Havoc 3s, with a 55t novak, R2 1:1 trans. to Worminator Axles. In my Honcho.

are 1300Mah good enough? I am going to be doing some competition with my rig, so I don't want to be running short.

I'm sure you will be fine, always having spares around is a good idea though.

most comps have a time limet of 5min per course i beleive, so if u had a 2 packs or so, u could just alternate which ones you use and top the other up while waiting.

my guess is you would get about 25-30 min of run time with ur set up at the least, iv never run worm drive axles so im not to sure how much they would effect run time, i just know it takes more juice to make em turn

whats your price range? hyperon is deff the way to go if u have the $ but ur looking at 100+ depending on what modle you go with. i use the imax b-6 , it will charge/blance up to a 6s lipo, and does most types of batteries, with 110volt power adaptor it will set you back about 40 bucks off e-bay, my only complaint would be that the balance charge is a little slow, but it workds great for the price

I just found this place and just ordered 2 3cell 2200mah lipos and the 5 amp charger from there got here in 2 days for $85.00 and shipping is $3.99 on ANYTHING!! This place is essencially the same quality as the electronics from HobbyCity just you don't pay a ton for shipping and wait for 2 weeks...
