Default Fx-r overheating

I just moved into the lipo world and popped a 3cell into my creeper with the 55t/Fx-r combo. It is crazy how much power it has now. The problem is the damn thing will over heat in 5mins. I ran my nimh for 40mins and never had problems. I am running stock gearing. do I need to change gearing? any thoughts thanks.

Is your motor getting hot too? Or just the esc?

Check next time, if the motor is getting hot, try lower gearing.

I have stopped before it got to shutdown. Any reconmmendations on which BEC will work the best. And is this a common issue, other than the BEC should I change something (Motor)?

no just grab yourself a castle creations bec and leave the motor, i had the same problem until i put a bec in and never had the problem again

it just allows so not so much draw is being sucked out of the esc which creates it to shutdown
