Default Brushless Setup?

Hey guys ive been involved in one form of rc or another for years now and race regularly at my local track. im new to crawling though and really like the scale look of the scx10. I already have some brushless electronics laying around, a Tekin RS Pro and 17.5 motor. It seems nobody puts this type of brushless setup in their rigs and i want to know why. Would it not be effective? what if i put the 14mm torque rotor in there, would that help? Why do brushed motors seem to be the goto when brushless is known for their torque? thanks for your patience with this newb and i appreciate any knowledge!

Cost and water, that system will work great as long as it's dry though. I'd run it before I popped for the 14mm rotor, that's a 2,200 KV setup and I run a 2,700 KV in my comp crawler (Novhack 18.5 Goat). Your stock 14/87 gearing should have awesome torque and wheelspeed on a 3s pack.

The rs pro and 17.5-21.5 is a great combo for a scaler! People don't do it because of cost and really ya don't need all that power in a crawler. But, Go For It! If tekin would sponsor me I'd have two of them in my moa!
