| Motor choice for TLT Crawler
Hi everyone, I'm in the process of building my first TLT crawler with: Bender chassis Maxx shocks, links, driveshafts Bandit tranny I've sort of run out of funds, which means I cant purchase a lathe motor right now. I have a 27T Trinity Monster Stock which has had the comm cut, and fresh brushes. My question is, will this be suitable for my crawler, or is it not even worth putting it in?? I'll be running the stock 78T bandit spur gear (maybe even an 87T pede gear if need be), and the smallest pinion that'll fit. Cheers |

It won't have quite the torque a lathe will, and will be a little too fast for serious crawling, but it should do alright for a start. I actually like to run a 27T motor on my TLT from time to time when I am just bashing around in the yard, or doing some light crawling. And if you do have the choice, throw the pede spur on there. That will help at least a little. |

The 27t should be adequate for now. Just set the timing to 0 and go. If you can gear it down that will be even better.
