| Running 2 brushed motors from one esc?
Noob question alert I'm so green to crawlers you can call me shrek, so excuse me for this noob question. (new to crawlers, not to the Rc world, i have plenty of race/bash trucks) I have ordered an xr10, i have ordered 2 55t novak motors, and i have on order the dig2 ESC, now if the esc is delayed further and i get the truck before i get the esc, would i come up with any problems running both motors from say a traxxas xl5 esc (i say that just because I've got a few of those laying around) i realize i will not have dig functionality, and will likely need an external BEC... but would it be possible without terrible glitching or overloading the esc. You'll be fine. Just don't forget about the XL-5 NOT having lipo cut-off... |

when you run 2 motors in parallel you divide the turns in half. basicly, a 55 turn motor is the same load as a 27 turn as far as the esc is concerned.

Thanks for the responses i do have a low voltage alarm i use on some of my other trucks, i also have a voltage monitor in the mail so the no LVC is not an issue. i guess all i have to do is make a y connector and plug in both motors, i was hoping it'd be that simple, thanks! (but hopefully my dig2 will come before the truck so i don't have to do this at all.) |
