scx10 the only way to go! alot of custom parts and ways you can build it? or buy a rtr/artr and go from there!

It doesn't do too bad stock! run it and from there upgrade esc (rooster, teken fxr, etc), driveline's (mip's),

The honcho rtr is an awesome truck even with the plastic links and others stock parts. It crawls better at times than my 2.2 does. I just put a Tekin FXR with a 55t pro hand wound motor in it, and it does really well.

hands down more durable too.. my scx tumbled 50 feet down a hill at about a 45 to 50 degree angle with 8 ounces of copper bb' s in all 4 tires, dual 5500 stick packs and custom bumpers and sliders... weighing around 9.5 pounds, i only cracked my blazer body through the top corner of the front fender from tumbling. scx all the way bro |

Stick with the Axial, you will wind up spending more on it, but its possibly THE best trail ready RTR without spending over $1000. I want to get a Honcho too, but I want to put a brushless system in it. 40mph scaler! Nice! check out the other scale trucks from RC4WD, but don't lose sight of your goal...The Honcho! X2.3958475675647676 on the SCX10, very durable truck. |

Thought I would add one thing too, tumble that RC4WD truck and take a major chance on bending the chassis too. The steel c frame chassis on the SCX is much more robust and much more scale too.

although a bit of a newbie I just finished an SCX Honcho Kit and am loving it. stay away from RTR and get the kit so you can learn as you go. i am running a Spektrum DX3E (only 99 bucks and comes with a servo) and Novak Goat with a 45t. |
