Depending on the radio that you have you can adjust the punch on it. Or just put a smaller gear (lower tooth count) or a higher turn motor.

A better motor or higher turn motor will be smoother on the bottom end . The pinion or spur will help but not as much . Also you can get a better ESC but not sure if you are willing to spend that much money .

Before getting a motor I would try a smaller pinion. The real problem is the stock esc. I would spend my money there first. Even a rc4wd outcry is an upgrade. Next best budget is the cc sidewinder (even the mirco if ya don't go too low turns on the motor and/or high volts on the batt, but get a bec).

You could get an esc/motor combo and kill two birds with one stone. I have the Tekin FXR/45 turn motor combo and it works great. Not too touchy but when you punch it, it has the torque to move your rig very well. The esc in this combo has alot of adjustability when it comes to throttle as well.
