Default XR-10 Run Times and BEC?

Hello Everybody, New to the site and r/c rock crawlers. We mostly run 1/5th scale Bajas. I have been looking at the crawlers for a while thought the scalers were really cool. Then one of my buddies bought an AX-10. Saw what that could do in person, I was very impressed Then I ran across the videos of the XR-10, Now I'm hooked. I was wondering what the approximate run times that I could be getting with these types of batteries. Max amps Lipo 1800 3S 11.1V and the Max Amps Lipo 1300 3S 11.1V

I've ordered
XR-10
Dual FXR ESC's
Dual Tekin 35t Hand Wound Motors

Going to order
Futaba 4PKS
Castle Creations BEC

The Question on the BEC is. What voltage to set the BEC at. I was guessing 6v. But I'm not sure.

Well, Thanks in advance for the info. And Great Site.

Its hard to say how much runtime you will get because it depends on a bunch of stuff but I would probably guess you would get 45+ out of the 1800 and 30+ out of the 1300.

As far as the bec voltage goes it really depends on how you have it wired into the rig. If you are going through the rx you shouldnt run over 6v but if you go to the servo directly then you can run as much as you want provided that the servo will hold up to it. As always make sure to set the end points on your servo travel so you dont burn it up in a few runs.

Hope that helps,

6V is safest for long servo life and if you are running the voltage through the RX (plugging the BEC right into the BAT port of your RX).

7.2V or more on the BEC will give you alot more servo power but you need to watch servo temps. I would recommend powering the steering servo directly from the BEC and let the ESC power the RX.

I think the 1800's would be a little big to put in the car...My 1100's run for like
30-35 min....I would purchase a few 1300's
