Default esc question

with a moa set up (xr10) can one esc be used or do you have to use 2 and are there advantages or disadvantages either way? considering a xr10 but worried it may be over my head as a beginner?

1 esc will work fine and is best for simplicity and cost. 2 esc's give you more control but are more complex to use and the cost of 2 esc's and a 4 channel radio can make it overwhelming. If you go with dual esc's you will have to have a 4 channel radio to be able to use them properly. I use a HH torquemaster and a punk dig for competing, but a dig is not necessary to just have fun with it. Using a dig will require a 3 channel radio too. Novak makes a dual motor esc with built-in dig but i'm not up to date with that one. Hope that helped.
