Merely suggestions:

If soldering isn't an issue:

Motor & ESC (can be waterproofed for $10 extra)

Servo Hi-Tec or Savox (you can waterproof them and they have more torque)

Batteries
There are train loads out there...

If on a budget for the radio & rec. - Spectrum DX3E

a nice tekin 35t pro mated with a 14t pinion would give u the speed with 3s plus with the 14t it'll give u the grunt u want for torque

IMO i would choose a novak rooster for the esc

Servo id go with a hitec. I run a 645 on my stuff

Thats my opinion on things. just throwing it out there

Sorry, not intending to stomp on mfishr's advise but I have multiple Spektrum sets, and two Savox servos of different models, and they both are incompatible with Spektrum radios.

I don't know why, I guess it is the signal wave from the receiver to the servo. Both of the Savox work with my Airtronics, Accoms and Futaba radio but they just go off their nuts when hooked up to Spekky receivers. I asked the shop where I purchased them and they said there was an issue.

Other than that, good advice. DX3E as a cheap 3ch radio and the Holmes gear
