I'd say pretty much what I'm running now cept for maybe a Hitec HS-7980TH. Right now I'm running Mayham double phattys, rears are delrin, Double Deuce Nova foams, Rover white dots, MIP CVDs, MIP Driveshafts, VF Dig, Sportwerks shocks, CC BEC, CC Mamba Max, Hitec HS-7955MG, HH 7t Colbalt Puller motor, CKRC BTA, Spektrum DX3E. Runnnig a DNA SlingShot chassis with Delrin lower and upper links. Going to change over to VP zero ackermann knuckles in a few weeks.

What I'm running now. It's been three years, and most everything is BWD/DNA/Vanquish/Holmes/JR/KoPropo. It wasn't an unlimited budget, but an unlimited amount of time. |

Did it. But if I was to build a no limits unlimited budget crawler it wouldn't be an AX-10. I'd start with some TI Fighters and a T1E Chassis. Brian's Midnight Fastback Build |

I'm with the last two, dropping any serious money on an AX at this point is just wasting cash. You'll feel dumb when your $1,000 plus electronics AX can't keep up with a box stock $300 XR.

Mine would be completely built with the best anodized alloy that Integy offers. |

ive seen moa beat shaftys and ive seen shaftys beat moa, alot of driving depends on the driver, you can have the best of the best on a moa but pair it with a horrible driver then its worthless, pair a great driver with a well built shafty and he can walk circles around moa, jmho

With the same drivers a MOA will kick shafty ass if they are both setup right.

Yep that is a stupid argument, kinda like saying a Pinto is faster than a Porsche if the Porsche driver is a normal 14 year old kid and the Pinto is driven by Ken Block... My dream ax10 set up would be a set of Wheely king axles and a Summit trans. Maybe use an ax10 hardened ring gear? ax10 axles are too narrow for a 2.2 and 1.9s don't give enough diff clearance (although the lil things are fun to drive, kinda like beating a stock truck up on a trail that is way too hard for it) As for the moa v. shafty debate: I started this hobby as a supplement to my automotive hobby. A shafty gives that mechainical lock between f/r axles that even the best moa setup doesn't/can't replicate. In my opinion using an MOA crawler takes makes crawling more of an "electronic" hobby like video games or computers. Yes an MOA crawler will pull amazing lines on natural obstacles, but it takes the "automotive" element out of it for me, and I don't particularly enjoy driving an moa crawler.

Nothing wrong with an AX10, the axles and tranny are a perfect starter for a scale build ! Shafties will never die for this reason alone.

^^^^ finally some one that read the question and posted accordingly. Nice list Palo, there is only a couple of things I would change. But if some one gave me the above rig I would not argue. |

Hey I answered your question on post 4. My parts list was on my build thread link. One thing I changed on my rig and would change on Palo's list, is I went to VP 0 Ackerman and like them much better. |
