(problem)rear seams to stall bad

what is a good % to start out with when using the holms hold.
and if it is set at 100%would that create rear stall?
i am running 2 br-xls, only have the hold turned on in the rear
could i turn up the throttle curve in the rear?
-4pl radio

The rear motor is stalling under throttle and load? The drag and hold will not affect this. I would suggest dropping your pinion down a tooth in the rear, and maybe add a bit of forward timing to the motors if you don't have some already.

I haven't needed to use more than 30-40% on the Holmes Hold to achieve great results.

Rotate the endbell a bit. Not familiar with brushed motors? Second post will be a visual representation Caring for your new Brushed motor

Start your timing at 5-7 degrees and drop a pinion size in the rear like john said.

First thing I would do is make sure your throttle positions have been timed together on both ESC's with the radio.

You didn't program the throttle position when you installed them? Then this is most likely the cause of your problems.

I believe with the BR-XL you need to hold the throttle in when you plug in the battery or turn on the switch. You should do this to both ESC's at the same time.

I do not suggest running different pinion gears with dual ESC's setups.

You may have good luck doing this to both ESCs at the same time, but if you have issues getting one to sync you will need to make sure that the ESCs are not hard wired together before trying again one at a time.

You always need to calibrate your radio to your ESC, no matter the brand. You may have never noticed it with a single ESC setup but you very likely lost performance in a previous setup by not doing that.

By overdriving the rear you essentially are doing the same thing. No need to control each independently.
